ABOUT 

The Mipri Haye Scholarship

Mipri Alizabeth Haye was born in Richmond Virginia to her parents Capri Scott-Williams and Michael Haye. Mipri was acknowledged throughout her educational journey for. Her academic achievements. She was always an honor roll student. Mipri was a member of the Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey and belonged to the TangledWebb Service Unit’s Troop 22054 from 4th grade to 10th grade. While a Junior Girl Scout, she earned the Bronze Award. Mipri was also a member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.’s Burlington County Chapter from 2010-2014. She graduated Cum Laude from Washington Township High School in 2018 and was the recipient of the Presidential Award. Upon completion of high school, Mipri enrolled at Rowan University as a full-time student where she studied Criminal Justice. She had a future aspiration to become a Defense Attorney which would have propelled her into a life career goal of becoming a Judge. Mipri passed away suddenly on July 30, 2020, at the tender age of 20. The Mipri Haye Scholarship was created to commemorate her life and legacy.

A minimum of $500.00 will be awarded in scholarships to qualified graduating high school seniors. Each scholarship will be paid by The Mipri Haye Scholarship Fund to the student, upon verification that she has been accepted and enrolled in an institution of higher learning. Any graduating high school senior who is currently a Girl Scout or who previously was a Girl Scout until at least the 7th Grade, who has a GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or better, and who has applied or been accepted to a college/university to pursue an undergraduate degree in political science, government, criminal justice, or similar major, with the goal of becoming a lawyer, is eligible to apply. Two scholarships will be awarded, one based on academic excellence, and one based on achievement in Girl Scouting. Other factors that will be considered in awarding both scholarships are financial need, commitment to volunteerism/community service, and overall qualifications, with emphasis on the quality of the final essay.
